PT-C-HDCP-DS – HDCP Converter with Downscaling: Signal Compatibility and Format Adaptation for AV Systems
The PT-C-HDCP-DS is a compact HDCP converter designed for professional AV installations requiring seamless interoperability between mixed-format sources and displays. Its architecture supports high-bandwidth video signals and incorporates both HDCP and resolution downscaling functions, facilitating integration in meeting rooms, control rooms, and signage environments. The unit’s slim enclosure and 5V power injection capability enable flexible placement within dense rack spaces or behind displays, while the integrated video repeater function extends signal reach in complex cable topologies. This device addresses common compatibility challenges across hybrid and legacy AV deployments.

• High-Bandwidth Video Support: Processes signals up to 18Gbps, supporting 4K resolution at 60Hz with 4:4:4 chroma subsampling and HDR10. This ensures accurate colour reproduction and high dynamic range for demanding AV applications, including control rooms and signage systems.

• 4K to 1080p Downscaling: Integrated downscaling converts 4K input signals to 1080p output, allowing seamless use with legacy displays or recording equipment that do not support ultra-high-definition formats. This function is suitable for mixed-technology meeting spaces and hybrid AV environments.

• HDCP Version Conversion: Downscales HDCP 2.2-protected content to HDCP 1.4, maximising compatibility with older displays or distribution equipment. The converter maintains content protection while bridging between devices with differing HDCP requirements.

• Extended Video Repeater Function: Supports signal extension up to 15 metres, with 10 metres input and 5 metres output. This feature addresses cable length limitations in larger rooms or distributed AV systems, ensuring stable transmission without additional extenders.

• Power Injection and Slim Design: Operates with 5V power injection, enabling reliable performance even in installations with limited power availability. The slim form factor facilitates discreet integration behind displays, within racks, or in confined AV furniture.

Comprehensive Signal Adaptation and Integration
The PT-C-HDCP-DS supports AV professionals in bridging digital content protection and resolution gaps across diverse installations. By combining high-bandwidth processing, HDCP and resolution downscaling, and signal extension, this unit provides a practical solution for maintaining compatibility between modern sources and legacy endpoints in professional AV environments.
